13 :- A, B and C are partners sharing profits in the ratio of 4 : 3 : 2. D is admitted for 1/3rd share in future profits. What is the sacrificing ratio?

Solution:- Calculation of new profit sharing ratio
Let the total profit share of firm be 1
D is admitted for 1/3rd share
Remaining share of the firm is 1 – 1/3 = 2/3
A’s new share = 2/3 x 4/9 = 8/27
B’s new share = 2/3 x 3/9 = 6/27
C’s new share = 2/3 x 2/9 = 4/27
D’s share = 1/3 x 9/9 = 9/27
Thus, New profit sharing ratio of A, B, C and D is 8:6:4:9

Calculation of sacrificing ratio of A, B and C
Old ratio – new ratio
A = 4/9 – 8/27 = 4/27 (sacrifice)
B = 3/9 – 6/27 = 3/27 (sacrifice)
C = 2/9 – 4/27 = 2/27 (sacrifice)
Thus, Sacrificing ratio of A, B and C is 4:3:2
