2 :- Girija, Yatin, and Zubin are partners sharing profits and losses in the ratio of 5 : 3 : 2. They admit Suresh into the partnership and give him 1/5th share of profits. Find the new profit-sharing ratio.
Solution:- Calculation of their new profit sharing ratio
Old ratio = 5:3:2
Let the total share of the firm is 1
They gave 1/5th share to Suresh
Remaining share of Suresh is 1 – 1/5 = 4/5
Now, Girja, Yatin and Zubin will distribute the remaining share in their old ratio i.e, 5:3:2
Girija = 4/5 x 5/10 = 20/50
Yatin = 4/5 x 3/10 = 12/50
Zubin = 4/5 x 2/10 = 8/50
Suresh = 1/5 x 10/10 = 10/50
Thus, new profit share of Girija , Yatin, Zubin and Suresh is 20:12:8:10 or 10:6:4:5
